If you meet the eligibility criteria, and you join one of our applicable Flying Start Accounting programmes in autumn 2023, a £10,000 bursary will be awarded to you, split across the four years of the degree. Graduates from this course can claim exemptions from up to eight CIMA professional examinations. This allows you to begin at the Operational or Management level of training as a CIMA Accountant. This course is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants . Completion of the programme can give you part-exemption from the ACCA professional accounting examinations. Depending on which you choose, you’ll either complete a placement learning or learning and development module. You might aim to secure a professional training contract in practice or in industry, aiming at future roles such as partner, financial director or chief financial officer. This course prepares you for a long-term financial career as a chartered accountant, allowing you to progress in many financial and related roles as well as the accounting profession. You’ll learn from tutors and guest speakers with direct experience of the industry, and be inspired by teaching founded on real-world practices. Learning and Teaching
You will be taught by leading academics who are well connected with industry and the aAccountancy profession and able to combine cutting edge theory with real-world practice. They bring the lessons learned from their most recent research and/or experience as an accountancy professional into the classroom, giving you access to critical business thinking and contemporary real world examples and scenarios. Students may be eligible for external funding however this is not guaranteed; the University of Strathclyde will continue to participate in the Erasmus programme until May 2023 however are also participating in UK’S Turing Scheme. The Turing Scheme offer contribution towards living costs for students undertaking work or study abroad as part of their degree and is calculated based on length of placement and living costs at destination. Offers are made in accordance with specified entry requirements although admission to undergraduate programmes is considered on a competitive basis and entry requirements stated are normally the minimum level required for entry.
